Restaurant Project Definition - slangford034/p3-restaurant GitHub Wiki
1. Why does this project need to exist?
This project needs to exist because Sushi Maru's website is both slow, and difficult to use. The site does not provide the information that users want, or need in a quick, easy to use format. This problem is exemplified by the popularity, and ease of use, of the Google version of the restaurants menu and other vital information.
2. What aspects of this project are good user experiences?
This website provides several advantages that make it a good user experience. The menu allows you to readily view the items you can purchase, the price structure, and contact information. For the most part there are no needless distractions beyond the animations, providing a clean simple experience.
3. What aspects of this project are bad user experiences?
The site requires you to load extensive animations that severely slow down the experience in order to view the webpage. In addition the menu is displayed in a way that provides too little information about the products themselves, and cannot be downloaded or easily printed for the user to take with them or show to friends and family.
4. Describe the user(s) of, and also how they are using -- this project?
Users of the site are likely to be local professionals, workers, and families. The ability to eat quickly, without waiting, and to see your food before-hand makes it ideal for guests to eat quickly during work breaks, or for families before a movie or local event. This means the website needs to be fast, allow the user to understand times, choices, location, and provide a clear mobile design.
5. What solutions may exist to improve the overall User Experience (UX)? Reference
A substantial portion of the experience could be improved by removing the unnecessary animations that slow down the site. In addition a redesign of the menu would help to improve the ability to quickly comprehend the items you can purchase, in an easy to read downloadable format.
