For this lab I configured the 2019 Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services, and the Domain Name Server on my workstations.

Things to remember:

On ad01 set network adapter to LAN

Changed network settings to the following: IP Address: 10.0.5.5, Netmask: 255.255.255.0, Gateway 10.0.5.2, DNS 10.0.5.2

To install ADDS role go to add roles and features, after install: must promote the sever. To do this create a new forest and then enter a DSRM password.

added a DNS record: to do this go to DNS manger in the server manager. Make new hosts for fw01 and ad01. Click update PTR. Also must add entries in the reverse DNS lookup.

Added new users on the AD DS. Make a domain admin user and a non-privileged account.

Make sure to change the preferred DNS server on wk01 and have it join domain
