2. Importing Your osu!mania Map - skyewontmiss/ExtendedCharts-For-CSharp GitHub Wiki
Alright! The time has come. You've been in your gaming chair for the past 63 hours with no sleep, no rest, but a shit ton of doritos, and your mouth is now bright orange, unless your flavor of choice isn't my flavor of choice. What's your favorite flavor? Sorry, I'm getting distracted. Anyway...
Downloading and Setting Up Poly Beats
- Download Poly Beats by 5th Step Games, and open it up.
- If you aren't automatically logged in, choose 'Play Offline', or sign up/log in to your Beats Account.
- In the menu, click 'Space', and you should be directed here:
- Click the left arrow on your keyboard to go to the 'Custom Maps' section of the HMUI (High Masterization User Interface).
- Click the map importer.
Importing your osu!mania Map with '.osu to .chartmap'
- Click 'Get Maps', then navigate to your .osu map's folder. All your osu! maps will typically be in the osu! install directory, then 'Songs'.
Now, choose a directory. for example...
- Now you should be here:
This may look confusing, but let's go through it one-by-one.
Firstly, select a Cover Image for your map, but this should not have the same name as the Background Image of your map if you have one.
Next, choose a difficulty for your map. But please note that there can only be one map per difficulty. If you try to assign more than 1 map to the same difficulty, it can get a bit messy.
After that, here's the juicy part. Pick some colors for your map to have. The colors will be reflected in the game scene. For example, if i pick these colors in the editor...
They will be reflected in-game like so...
Now, confirm your changes, and convert your map. If you have multiple difficulties, it's the same rinse and repeat process, but please remember, ONE DIFFICULTY per map. Thank you :) Return to the menu, and go to the Mania Menu by clicking [Space] again. After that, click 'Custom Maps' at the top:
Now, the song-list should be populated by your custom map!
(in the event that it isn't, there's most likely an issue with it that the game should've pointed out to you. If there's a problem, contact us about it.)
Now, check that it works by clicking it and playing through it.
Now we're done. Ready to get juicy with some ExtendedCharts effects?
