Rules - sixcious/downloadyze GitHub Wiki
Rules allow Downloadyze to download files from sites that require special handling. Downloadyze can automatically detect when this is needed and add rules for you using its unique algorithm. You can also manually add rules too.
Special Handling
Whenever you make a request to download a file from a website, the site may check for certain values in your download request or they will issue a FORBIDDEN response. Saving rules allow Downloadyze to remember these sites (URL domains) and add the values they need.
Automatic Rules
Downloadyze can automatically detect when sites require special handling and add the values the site is looking for using its unique algorithm. This means you don't have to understand Rules and can let Downloadyze handle them for you on-demand.
If for some reason you need to, you can always disable Downloadyze from adding rules automatically by untoggling the switch in the OPTIONS > RULES section. You shouldn't need to do this, but as this is an experimental feature, the option is there.
Adding and Deleting Rules
You can manage all your rules in the OPTIONS > RULES section.
It's technically possible to add rules manually if you happen to know the specific URL domains that need them by clicking the Add Rule button. Currently however, it's recommended to allow Downloadyze handle this for you instead.
If you notice a rule for a domain that doesn't look right, you can delete it by checking the checkbox and clicking the Delete Selected Rules button.
