Point of application of force - simphysoftwares/SimPHY-docs GitHub Wiki
It can be set with respect to Centre of mass of the body. Origin is assumed at the CoM and XY axis along the original inclination of the body. Then we write the X and Y components i.e. position vector wrt CoM in force editor to apply force at that position from CoM.
We can apply three types of forces on the body. They are
a) Fixed local point and direction: The direction and point of application of force on the body remains fixed irrespective of motion at any instant.
b) Rotates with body at fixed point: Point of application of force is fixed on the body but the direction of force varies as per the rotation i.e velocity of point of application at any instant.
c) Wrapped as thread on body: To provide tangential force in which point of application rotates with body in circular kind of trajectory.
See the below video to see how these three kinds of forces actually work.
