Basic Visualization: Tracer and Ghosting - simphysoftwares/SimPHY-docs GitHub Wiki

Tracer

Tracer is a very useful tool to visualize the motion. It draws the actual trajectory i.e. path any point travels during motion. Note that it can be attached to the centre or any point on the body. We can change size, fade time (the time for which a trace remains after getting made), number of points (how close the traces are) to be created. Tracers can show velocity, acceleration and angular velocity. We have three types of tracers in Simphy: Dotted, Solid and Ghost (leave image of body instead of trace of any point).

Tracer(ghosting)

Ghost tracer makes a ‘ghost image or virtual image’ of the body on the path it travels as per the number points and fade time given.
