Available lenses and comparison
There are many lenses to choose from, most basically you want to look out for a lens with a C-Mount or a CS-Mount. There are also other adapters out there, e.g. M12, you can use. Let us know if you happened to try a lens or want to add a comment to this list.
Lens | Mount | Notes |
---|---|---|
16mm 10MP Telephoto Lens for Raspberry Pi HQ Camera link | C-Mount | No distortions, nice bokeh but the shortest in-focus range seems to be pretty far |
6mm 3MP Wide Angle Lens for Raspberry Pi HQ Camera link | CS-Mount | Very shallow depth of view so you'll be easily out of focus, and its distortion (pin cushion) and quality is bad. |
Commonlands Portrait 6.0mm M12 Lens | M12 (adapter) | See link for sample |
Fujinon DF6HA-1B 6mm 1.2 | C-Mount | Don't let the 1B, 1S or 1 suffix confuse you, it is the same lens. 1S adds stabilization. |
Fujinon HF9HA-1B 9mm 1.4 | C-Mount | Good lens. Low distortion - low pin cushion. Filled portrait at 50cm distance (very close!). |
Pentax/Cosmicar 6mm 1.2 | C-Mount | Unusable under 2-2.8 aperture due to aberration and glaring. Very nice above. |
Kern Switar 5,5mm 1,6 H8 RX Bolex | C-Mount | |
Tamron 8mm C-Mount Objektiv 219HB | C-Mount | |
Arducam Lens for Raspberry Pi HQ Camera link | CS-Mount | A cheap but pretty nice lens. No distortions, no bokeh, perfect for a cheap webcam lense. It does lack aperture and zoom adjust. |
Computar T3Z3510CS 3.5-10.5 1:1.0 | CS-Mount | Overall nice lens |
