In every presentation, you are presenting both yourself and your work. Prepare well for them. The slides should been done a long time before the presentation so that you have sufficient time to practise your talk.

Structure

  1. Introduction and Motivation- why should people care about my work.
  2. State of the Art- describe existing work. Everyone wants to see their name up on my slides. Describe how my method goes beyond the previous ones.
  3. Our Approach
  4. Results - they should support my method.
  5. Conclusion and Future Work

Visualization

Tips

  1. Algorithm are hard to understand. Describe the method using examples instead.
  2. Use sans serif.
  3. Use dark text on dark background.
  4. Left aligned text is easier to read.
  5. Do not use red and green together.
  6. Caption should not be smaller than the text.
