MateEngine Settings Manual This manual explains what each setting does to help you use MateEngine smoothly and without issues.
Animation Change Time (Slider) Controls how long the pet stays in one idle animation before switching to another.
Animation Transition Time (Slider) Controls how long it takes to transition from one idle animation to the next.
Start Dance Volume Threshold (Slider) Determines how loud the music must be before the pet starts dancing.
- At 0, the pet will dance even to quiet sounds.
- At maximum, the music must be very loud. Note: This feature may not work with all apps (e.g., Spotify is not supported).
Avatar Always In Front (Checkbox) Keeps the avatar always on top of other windows. Note: May not work with fullscreen applications or games.
Avatar Can Dance (Checkbox + Settings Icon) Enables dancing in response to music. Click the settings icon to open a whitelist for allowed apps.
Head Follows Mouse (Checkbox) Enables mouse tracking, making the avatar's head and spine follow your cursor.
FPS Limit (Slider) Adjusts the frame rate from 15 FPS (low) to 120+ FPS (high).
Avatar Size (Slider + Scroll Wheel) Changes the avatar’s size using the slider or by scrolling your mouse wheel over the avatar.
Pet Volume (Slider) Adjusts the volume of pet sounds (e.g., giggles).
Effects Volume (Slider) Adjusts the volume of effects like the glitter when petting the avatar.
Menu Volume (Slider) Controls the volume of UI elements and startup sounds.
Graphics (Dropdown) Selects the graphical quality level (e.g., Low, Medium, High).
Language (Dropdown) Changes the language of the UI.
Experimental (Label) Marks settings that are experimental or may be unstable.
Windows Sitting (Checkbox) Enables the feature where the avatar can "sit" on top of open windows.
Head Blend (Slider) Controls how much the head follows the mouse:
- 0 = no tracking (better idle animations)
- 100 = full tracking (may reduce idle animation quality) Recommended: Leave at default or set to around 50%.
Spine Blend (Slider) Same as Head Blend, but applies to the spine.
Ambient Occlusion (Checkbox) Enables ambient occlusion shading for more realistic lighting.
