Summary: Print info about the rules and guidelines for the petpic commands.
The series of petpic subcommands is used to manage your submissions for randpet. The images you provide, if approved, will show up randomly when people use the /randpet command anywhere Chatot is located!
-
You are responsible for the content of your submissions. Take care not to include pictures that contain personally identifiable information (PII).
- If you ever delete the source image, the link will remain in the pool until you remove it with these commands, but not embed anywhere (the image may persist for a little while due to how Discord caches).
- Do not troll or attempt to game the system (everything is tracked)
- Cutest pics only, please! Imagine you're submitting to the Smog Awards for cutest pet.
- While there is no limit on the number of submissions, please keep it reasonable. A few are fine, your entire Google Drive is not. The point is to showcase a variety of pets!
- Try to limit it to your pets. If you don't have one, neighbor's, friend's, etc are fine, but not just a cute pic you found online.
You upload your image somewhere on Discord then provide the attachment link. Images you submit are sent into an approval queue, where they are given a cursory scan for content (i.e. making sure appropriate/no PII). If approved, your pet pic will be available in the pool of images randomly chosen with /randpet.
Everything given to and sent by Chatot is a reference to the original image you uploaded. If you ever delete that source image, these links will (eventually) die, preventing it from being embedded even if another reference link is later sent. Conversely, removing the image from the pool does not delete the source image. This is designed so that you retain control over your pictures. Please try to remember to remove your picture from the pool so it doesn't take up space.
By submitting an image, you agree to have it exist in the pool until you remove it or are no longer in a server with Chatot.

To see your submissions, run `/petpic list`. This allows you to get a link to your images that you can use to remove it. For desktop users, click on the image first before right clicking to copy the link.
This is a lot of words for something that's really quite simple. Upload your pet pictures for others to enjoy and don't overthink it.
