Introducing VirtualDub 3D Acceleration
VirtualDub 3D Acceleration (VDXA) allows video filters to harness the computing power of a graphics 3D accelerator to process video. 3D hardware is designed to perform massively parallel calculations across lots of pixels, which makes it a good match for the needs of video processing.
In order to use a 3D accelerator, a video filter must be written to take advantage of the VDXA API. VDXA wraps the platform 3D API and simplifies common tasks, making it easier to rewrite video processing operations on top of standard 3D primitives.
