The z3660 is a high performance accelerator card for Amiga 4000 and 3000 models.

Feature Overview

  • 68060 CPU support
  • zTurn FPGA support, which adds:
    • 128MB of DMA-compatible local CPU RAM
    • 256MB of fast RAM (non-DMA compatible)
    • Fast CPU emulation on ARM core
    • 16 bit RTG graphics card
    • 16 bit AHI audio

    • SCSI emulation with hard file support
    • Kickstart loaded from SD
    • Flexible configuration
    • Ability to select between real CPU and emulation via reset, or configuration files
  • ZTop software that enables configuration changes from Amiga (with zTurn)
  • zTurn Online update via early boot menu
  • Open hardware released under GPL3 licence

Requirements

  • An A4000, 4000T, 3000 or 3000T.
  • 68060 and/or zTurn FPGA model MYS-7Z020-V2 from mouser (C or C-S. C-S has restrictions on EU - UK)
  • Recommended: Kickstart 3.2.2

CPU Support

  • Z3660 supports both a physical 68060 and emulated 68040 CPUs. Physical 68040s are not supported.
  • For 100MHz operation of a physical CPU, a rev 6 68060 with the latest mask is recommended, along with cooling.
  • Multiple emulated options: UAE-sourced JIT, UAE-sourced non-JIT, and MUSASHI emulators. (Emu68 not available as the zTurn arm core is only 32 bit, and Emu68 requires a 64 bit processor)

Networking with zTurn

  • 100MB Ethernet networking supported
  • Available in zTurn Early Boot up for direct update of firmware: follow on screen instructions from HDMI
  • SANA-II compatible driver. (Supported by all TCP/IP stacks)
  • Requires INT6 modification to work in Amiga 3000

Audio (AHI and MHI)

  • AHI driver providing X bit audio across Y channels
  • MHI driver providing MPEG decoding for use by AmigaAMP and other players
  • Requires INT6 modification to work in Amiga 3000

Video (RTG)

  • HDMI output in up to 16-bit colour depth, with resolutions up to 2560x1440
  • Accelerated functions where possible
  • P96 driver provided along with monitor settings file and (coming soon) an installer script
  • Does not require any modifications in order to work in A3000

On board SCSI emulation / fast hard disk

  • Hard file mapped to SCSI disk
  • Full RDB mode within the hard file
  • Support for up to 6 disks
  • Speeds of >15MB/second
  • Supports PFS3 and FFS, with further support being planned
