Installation‐software - shanshe/Z3660 GitHub Wiki

Software installation is straightforward as everything is provided on a single installation disk.
** Please ensure you use the version of the support disk that matches the release of boot.bin, and SCSI rom file! **

The latest support disk can be found on GitHub

CPU Support libraries

OS 3.2 comes with generic 060 and 040 libraries. These should be used, simply install them from the support disks. There is no need to install MMULibs when using 3.2+

Automatic installation

An installer script is in the works to automate installing all drivers needed for the z3660. This should be available before end July.

RTG: P96 Drivers

Install P96 latest version (currently 3.4.1), available from icomp.de (please note you need to have an account and log into it to have the option to buy P96). This is a commercial product and you need to pay for it to support ongoing development. Alternatively, you can install an old version of Picasso96 from Aminet

During installation select any graphics card as the z3660 isn't yet listed.

Following installation:

  • copy libs/picasso96/z3660.card to your libs:picasso96 directory
  • copy devs/monitors/z3660 and z3660.info to devs:monitors
  • (optionally) copy devs/p96-z3660-hdmi (currently found on this discord post) to devs:
    • click on your hard disk devs:monitors/z3660 icon and use right mouse button to select "info" (or press Right Amiga-I key)
    • select 'icon' tab
    • find the line saying settingsfile=devs:p96settings and change it to settingsfile=devs:p96-z3660-hdmi
    • If there is no line saying settingsfile, add a line that says settingsfile=devs:p96-z3660-hdmi

Reboot, go to prefs/Screenmode and you should find a load of new screenmodes starting z3660

Network: Sana-II drivers

  • Copy devs/networks/Z3660Net.device to devs:networks/
  • Add a network interface as described by your TCP/IP stack.
    • Roadshow: create a file called z3660 with the following basic contents. Note that device driver name is case sensitive. It has to match the file name on the disk: device=Z3660Net.device configure=dhcp
    • Roadshow: to automatically start the network on boot, place the file in devs:netInterfaces/. To start manually (with AddNetInterface command), place it in sys:storage/netInterfaces/

AHI/MHI Audio drivers

Download and install AHI from Aminet

  • Copy devs/AHI contents to devs:AHI
  • copy devs/AudioModes contents to devs:AudioModes
  • copy libs/MHI contents to libs:MHI

Configure using AHI within Prefs directory.

ZTop configuration software

ZTop (originally zztop designed for the zz9000, which explains the name) allows you to configure and diagnose many aspects of your z3660. To install it, simply drag its icon onto a hard disk partition. No further libraries or files are needed on OS 3.2.
