Family Access

Family members can create their own account and request access. The parent approves them and chooses which swimmers they can follow.

Parent: share your family code

1. Open People & access.
2. Find Join with a family code.
3. Choose Create family code if you do not have one.
4. Share the code and app link with your family member.

Open Swim With Me

Replace code creates a new code for future requests. Anyone who still needs to join should use the new code.

Family member: sign up

1. Open the app.
2. Choose Family & friends.
3. Choose Create an account.
4. Enter your name, family code, email, and password.
5. Create the account.
6. Open the confirmation email and confirm your address.
7. Return to the app and sign in if needed.

If you see Join your family, enter your name and family code, then choose Request access.

Your account needs parent approval before you can see swimmers.

Parent: approve a request

1. Open People & access.
2. Find Access requests.
3. Check the person's name and email.
4. Select the swimmers they should follow.
5. Choose Approve selected swimmers.

Choose Decline if you do not want to approve the request.

After approval, the family member can choose Check approval, or sign out and sign back in.

Change swimmer permissions

Find the family member's card in People & access.

Each swimmer has an access selector:

Setting	What it allows
No access	Hides the swimmer from this member.
View & send cheers	Lets the member follow the swimmer and send messages.
Can edit	Grants editing permission where editing controls are available. Use this only for a trusted helper.

The family portal itself remains a viewing and messaging screen.

Follow a swimmer

1. Sign in through Family & friends.
2. Choose a swimmer using Following.
3. Use My meet to choose a meet.
4. Tap a finished race to view its result.
5. Open My progress to explore their history.

Only swimmers assigned by the parent are available.

Send a cheer

1. Choose the swimmer and a finished race.
2. Find Family cheers.
3. Enter your name and message.
4. Choose Send cheer.

The swimmer can reply from their linked swimmer account.

Messages belong to the selected race and are visible to the swimmer and authorized family members.

Remove a family member

1. The parent opens People & access.
2. Find the correct member by name and email.
3. Choose Remove member.
4. Read and confirm the removal.

The page reloads after a successful removal.

Removing someone keeps their login account but removes their connection to this family, swimmer permissions, linked kid-device records, and their account-linked messages within this family.

Other families and other people's messages are preserved.

They need a new approved request to regain access.

Older imported cheers stored as meet notes are not linked to an account and remain in those notes. Previously downloaded content is not erased from a device.
