Summary

Networking Setup

• Make sure that it is attached to the MGMT network adapter
• Set the hostname to mgmt01
• Set the IP to 10.0.5.20/24
• Set the default gateway to 10.0.5.2
• Set the default DNS to 10.0.5.2

Setting up mgmt01 as a DC

• Open the Add Roles and Features Wizard
• Add the Active Directory Domain Services role
• Promote your server to a DC
• Add a new forest called sec350.local
• Write down the DSRM password
• Create a named regular user
• Create a named administrator user

Setting up mgmt01 as a DNS Server

• Open the Add Roles and Features Wizard
• Add the DNS Server role
• Create
• Create reverse DNS zones for each zones
• Create DNS entries for each of the boxes except the firewalls

Other Setup

• Install Google Chrome
• Limit the com internet ports to 5000-6000
  • Go to Tools > Component Services in the Server Manager
  • Select Component Services > Computers > My Computer
    • Right click on My Computer
  • Select Properties > Default Protocols
  • Add a port range 5000-6000
