The Value Proposition Canvas is a supplement to the Business Model Canvas, which takes a closer look at the two components customer segments and value proposition. Value proposition design aims to align products and services with customer needs based on the tasks to be accomplished.
On the right side, the Value Proposition Canvas describes a specific customer segment in terms of tasks, problems ("Pains) and benefits ("Gains"). The left side, on the other hand, takes the view of the supplier. It lists products and services that are relevant to the respective customer segment describes problem solvers ("Pain Relievers") and benefit providers ("Gain Creators"): [1]

With the input of our Product Vision Board including our vision, target groups, needs, product and value and the definition of our Persona "Marco", we tried to get a deeper understanding of the customer groups by using the Value Proposition Canvas.
One the one hand, it helped us to identify the customer tasks that they try to solve for our scenario, the problems that they have to overcome to complete the tasks and the benefits that are demanded and desired by our customers. On the other hand, we got a closer look at the services that are relevant for our customer group, the offerings we can give them to solve their problems and the benefits that we are providing with our services.
The Value Proposition Canvas is designed for the scenario in which the customer decides to prepare his own dinner at home (excluding delivery service):
