During the Exploration Phase, we developed prototypes for the individual process steps of our Come'N'Eat service. In this context, we defined two hypotheses to test and validate our expected result based on these prototypes. The scenarios tested include authentication of the deliverer with his smartphone and the NFC tag, opening the door with the Nuki lock after successful authentication and coordination between Voice Assistant and the deliverer as soon as he enters the apartment. We formulated the following hypothesis for Come'N'Eat:
Hypothesis 1
Use of IoT devices in the incumbent delivery service enables end-to-end delivery experience with replicator effect
Due to the numerous media breaks in today's delivery service industry, it is almost impossible to create a replicator feeling among customers. For this reason, the hypothesis has to be evaluated whether the use of IoT devices in traditional delivery services can solve these media breaks to offer customers a home-table-delivery service that gives them the feeling of a restaurant at home.
Hypothesis 2
Voice Assistant coordinates deliverer for meal placement and leaving the flat
Nowadays, many customers lack the confidence to let the delivery service into their home because they are not familiar with the foreign environment, do not know in which rooms they are allowed to move and where to put the food. For the delivery service to know where to put the meal and to be able to orientate itself in the apartment, a voice assistant offers a simple but effective possibility. For this reason, we have hypothesized that a voice assistant can be used to ensure optimal coordination with the deliverer for food delivery and to ensure that the delivery service has left the apartment after a specific time.
Test
The test runs will be explained in detail in the chapter "Data Collection".
