Welcome to our IoT project @ HHZ

Bringing the restaurant to the customer´s home

We are four students at the "Herman Hollerith Zentrum" (HHZ) in Böblingen and will be graduating with a master’s degree in Digital Business Management in 2020. As part of the course “Internet of Things” we got the task for an experimental research of new IoT living environments and the application of IoT development methods with a special emphasis on the Living Lab Process.

More specifically, the project involves the demonstration of the "Replicator" as an IoT application ("The Restaurant at Home"), in which the daily routine is massively supported by the embedding of Smart Object Computers. The "Replicator" provides food and dishes on demand (using food cards or voice recognition) without perceiving the preparation but only the result:

Come'N'Eat

Imagine you are Marco, a tech-savy manager, who is working day long. Food is important for him, but even more severe is his need for healthy, fresh food. Once he saw Star Trek in his childhood, he is obsessed with the idea of having a food replicator. What if the Internet of Things realizes his dream?

We welcome you to our Smart Living Lab for your Restaurant at Home. Discover with us the potential of IoT and its underlying concepts for realizing new and innovative IoT-based services.

Procedure

We worked with the Living Lab Method consists of four phases:

  1. Co-Creation
  2. Exploration
  3. Experimentation
  4. Evaluation

Overall, we run one iteration as specified in the assignment. In the iteration we show the architecture of our mock up and explain the communication behavior. Finally, we produce an explanation video with focus on the Exploration phase as well as create a short presentation of the project.
