Join OasisEth as a Node to Get OETH Token Reward: Third Epoch Reminder - second-state/oasis-ssvm-runtime GitHub Wiki

Dear Community,

*All nodes need to take 1 min to fill out the OasisEth Node Info Collection Form if you have not filled it before.

If you want to get whitelisted to run a node on OasisEth and win OETH, you can always join to get the next epoch's OETH token reward and future reward, please follow the steps:

  1. Submit a pull request to our Oasis-SSVM-Paratime-Entities repository 7 days before this third epoch starts. And the submission will be closed 5 days before the third epoch starts. If you had submitted a pull request before and got removed, please create another pull request.
  2. Once your pull request got merged, your entity ID will be whitelisted when the submission closes. Then, node operators must deploy their paratime node as soon as possible by following the deployment instructions: Deploy OasisEth Paratime on Oasis Mainnet.
  3. We will take a snapshot at 13:00pm UTC+8 on the first day of each epoch. If your paratime node is not online and running when the snapshot is taken, your entity ID will be removed from the whitelist, and you have to wait for the next epoch to join.

Detailed timeline of the third epoch:

OasisEth's Genesis is 2021/03/05 13:00:00 UTC+8. The second epoch is from 2021/04/04 13:00:00 UTC+8 to 2021/05/04 13:00:00 UTC+8. And the third epoch is from 2021/05/04 13:00:00 UTC+8 to 2021/06/03 13:00:00 UTC+8.

The third epoch registration starts at 2021/04/27 13:00:00 UTC+8. You submit PR to wait to get whitelisted on 29th. The third epoch registration closes at 2021/04/29 13:00:00 UTC+8. Your PR is merged and whitelisted at the point. You have a few days to deploy following the guide.

The first snapshot of forth epoch will be 2021/05/04 13:00:00 UTC+8. If your steps are correct, you node should be registered and displayed here http://status.oasiseth.org/

FAQ

Q1. If my entity id is whitelisted in the previous round, do I need to submit a new pull request again?

A1. Nope, your entity id will be kept unless your paratime node is not online when the next snapshot takes. Please keep your node alive at the snapshot period.

Q2. I've submitted a pull request and got merged. However, my entity id is removed from the whitelist, because of some issues (e.g. not registered before the snapshot). Should I need to submit a new pull request again?

A2. Yes. You have to submit a new pull request again. Because we have no idea which entity id is ready for joining the network.
