History

1972: Jerold O'Brien discovered a bare, abandoned 18-acre orchard atop a 2,100-foot ridge overlooking Monterey Bay.

1979: Silver Mountain bonded. First vintage: 350 cases of Zinfandel.

1980: Vineyard certified organic.

1989: Loma Prieta earthquake completely destroyed original winery and cellar.

1995: Reconstruction completed with improved facilities.

2018: Tony Craig took over official winemaking duties on the 40th harvest. Jerold O'Brien continues to manage the business and educate customers during tasting hours.

2025: Jerold O'Brien acquired Woodside Vineyards label, equipment, and inventory.
