The Uvas Valley (Spanish for "grapes") has a long grape-growing history. Early Spanish settlers found native grapes growing wild. A winery was established on the property by the Marchetti family over 100 years ago, planted with Zinfandel and Carignane.
1975: Terry and Mary Kay Parks purchased the property and refurbished the vineyard, planting Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Renamed Sycamore Creek after a stream running through it. Aimed to produce high-quality wines, contrasting with the "jug" wines common in the area. Wines won several awards.
1977: First vintage.
1989: Parks sold to Morita Kazuaki, part of the Morita family that owns Sony. Wines exported almost exclusively to Japan and poured at Sony corporate events.
2005: Purchased by Bill and Carolyn Holt, who also own Uvas Creek Vineyard. Ted Medeiros became winemaker.
2015: Incorporated into Frank Léal's Léal Hospitality portfolio.
2024: Officially rebranded as MOHI Ranch (previously briefly known as MOHI Wine). Continues wine growing, producing, and tasting operations. The ranch also supplies Hotel MOHI boutique hotel.
Open Saturday and Sunday, 11am-4pm. Hosts weddings and events alongside wine tastings. Part of Léal Hospitality portfolio.
