1976: Founded in Ben Lomond by a group of five, including Ron and Rolayne Stortz.

1982: Moved to the old Picchetti property on Monte Bello Road.

Over time, three of the original five partners sold their shares. Rolayne Stortz worked as winemaker, while Ron helped run the business side, producing several varieties of wine.

1998: Decided to close after 22 years. "We decided it was just time to move on," said Ron Stortz, who later had an accounting practice in Los Gatos. "We had other things to do in life."

July 1998: Property taken over by Leslie Pantling, who renamed it Picchetti Winery.
