History

Founded 1973 on a ridge above Boulder Creek in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Site was an early 20th century vineyard and winery operated by the Locatelli family.

Estate vineyard above 1,000 feet elevation. Varieties:

• Chardonnay - Southwest-facing slope
• Cabernet Sauvignon - South-facing slope
• Merlot - West-facing slope with marine influence

All wines made from estate grapes.

Wines

Chardonnay - Cold fermented, aged 6-8 months in French oak (new and one-year). Racked frequently to emphasize fruit over buttery flavors. Light filtration.

Cabernet/Merlot - Fermented at low temperatures. Aged 18-24 months in barrel. Unfined and unfiltered.
