Despite being based in San Jose, J. Lohr has no vineyards in, and does not appear to source any fruit from, the Santa Cruz Mountains or Santa Clara Valley AVAs. None of their wines carry either designation. Of their almost 3,000 acres the majority are located in the Paso Robles AVA, San Luis Obispo County and Arroyo Seco AVA, Monterey County.
