History

Griffin Hill Vineyards was founded by Jeff and Claudia Griffin, who purchased their first vineyard in Felton, in April 2011. The winery grew out of Claudia's passion for food-producing plants and their shared interest in winemaking. The steep estate vineyard was planted primarily with Pinot Noir

The business was formally incorporated as Griffin Hill Vineyards, LLC on September 18, 2015. Jeff Griffin serves as both owner and winemaker, with mentorship from John Schumacher of Hallcrest Winery, who has also worked on some of their wines.

The Griffins sold the original vineyard in [DATE] and moved to Los Gatos. The new property is planted to Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. As of early 2026 no wines from the new vineyard have been released. Most of the wine is sold to wine club members.
