History

Matt Buchanan began making wine at home in 1993 with a single barrel of Pinot Noir. Three years later he teamed up with Roger Biringer; the following year they made their first commercial vintage together. Though none of the wines that Cordon Creek produces are from the Santa Cruz Mountains, they are members of the Santa Cruz Mountains WInegrowers Association under a "grandfather" clause.
