History
The single-acre estate vineyard was planted in 1990 around Dr. David Estrada's home in Scotts Valley. Around 700 closely spaced, dry farmed Pinot Noir vines produce up to 6 barrels a year of the Clos Tita Estate. The vines are farmed in a sustainable manner with minimal intervention.
Production is small, typically 75-150 cases of Estate Pinot Noir and a couple hundred cases total. Other wines are made from purchased Santa Cruz Mountain fruit, including the "Cuvee" Pinot Noir which includes fruit sourced from Branciforte Ridge and the "Gironde" Bordeaux blend, sourced from various other vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains. There is no tasting at the winery, but Dave usually pours his wines at Michael's On Mainfor Passport weekends and the Vintners' Festival. 'Tita' is Britta Estrada's nickname.
