Overview

One of the most historic vineyard sites in Santa Cruz Mountains, with grapes planted since at least 1880. The Beauregard family has ranched the property since 1945. Located just a couple miles from the Pacific Ocean, three miles inland.

Vineyard

Elevation: 1,000-1,200 feet atop a ridge on the fog line

Soil: Zayante series - decomposed ancient seabed that has become powdery white sand/bright white Zayante sands

Varietals planted:

  • Chardonnay (primary) - Old Wente Clone, self-rooted, 40-year-old vines planted around mid-1980s

Yields: Extremely low yields of about a ton per acre from 30-year-old own-rooted vines
