7. Controllers

The below controllers and accessories have been tested and confirmed working. Further below there are some that are partially working or require additional configuration.

Working Controllers

Wired

• Official Xbox One - NOTE: USB-C controllers do not work, must use controllers with Micro USB ports on them

• Be1 Wireless Gaming Controller - Xbox Style Schmoomer's Choice Currently unavailable at the time of this update.

• GameSir T4 pro Wireless Game Controller - Seems to be the successor to the above controller. The best connection method with this controller is the Apple/MFI Bluetooth pairing method (hold B button + Home). The USB dongle causes RetroPie to crash. The Android Bluetooth pairing mode (B + Home) seems to skip the left thumbstick button after pulling the right trigger during controller input configuration.

• Wii U Pro controller bluetooth (pick option 3, NoInputNoOutput)

NOTE: you cannot use two or more of the same QUMOX adapters at the same time. They seem to conflict with each other and have crashed emulationstation for some.

• 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter

NOTE: The brown colored version of the 8BitDo wireless USB adapter works best. It is recommended to use this with any 8BitDo controllers instead of the built in Bluetooth adapter. The gray version can be used, however you will have to overwrite the firmware on the gray adapter with the firmware that is used for the brown adapter. Use the 8BitDo firmware updater software to apply this.

Semi working controllers (requires additional configuration or not all buttons work)

Wired

• 3 button Genesis Mini - Hotkey when set does not work

• Steam controller wired (not all buttons detected)

• Thrustmaster T-FLIGHT HOTAS X in PS3 mode - Must be configured in retroarch

Wireless

• PowerA Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch - GameCube Style: Silver - In configure input cannot read left analog stick down - The buttons must be configured in retroarch

• Switch Pro controller - pick option 3: NoInputNoOutput - In configure input it does not detect right thumb click and right analog right. The lights will stay in sync mode but it's connected. - The buttons must be configured in retroarch

• Official Xbox One Bluetooth - Requires xpadneo drivers - Multiple issues in various emulators and games in button mappings - Some Emulators see two controllers instead of one.
