Current Priorities - scaife-viewer/readhomer GitHub Wiki

1. parallel reading

of Greek and English driven by alignment that Greg Crane has been working on

2. standoff chunking / TOC

where division of Homer into cards is specified out-of-band but those divisions form the basis for a TOC and pagination in the viewer

3. highlighting of arbitrary regions

(coming from some external source) both in a birds-eye like view and highlighting words in the text (this is basically a combination of the Homer n-gram stuff I’ve done (which can give us some demo data) and the Digital Sira named-entity search mockup)

4. translation alignment

on top of the parallel reading (once we have word-level alignment): hover on a Greek word and see the English words highlighted

5. colour-coding text based on word-level properties

coming from an external source (strongly related to 3 technically but sort of different use case): let’s specifically take the morphological tagging of Homer and enable things like “show the verbs in red”

6. display syntax trees

for the passage being viewed
