How to make biscuits and sausage gravy
Ingredients
- 1lb. Breakfast sausage (That jimmy dean shit is good stuff)
- Milk
- Butter (optional)
- Flour
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Worcestershire sauce
Process
- Cook breakfast sausage in a large pan until sausage is brown
- Once sausage is cooked, push it to one side of the pan
- Tilt pan to separate grease from sausage
- Add a couple of tablespoons of flour to the grease
- Add a little at a time, and STIR THE WHOLE TIME while you're adding it or you'll just get burnt / lumpy flour
- If there is not enough grease or you just feel like being a crazy son of a bitch, add butter to the grease
- Mix grease and flour and cook at low-med heat til slightly browner in color (this is called a "roux" and it's very cash money)
- Mix Roux and cooked sausage
- Add milk to desired gravy amount
- Add pepper, onion, and garlic powder to taste
- Cook sausage gravy on low-med heat until gravy thickens
- If gravy is too thick, add milk until desired consistency is achieved
- Add a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce and mix
- Make some biscuits or something
Conclusion
Serve halved biscuits covered in sausage gravy. Pass judgement on anyone who doesn't clean their plate.
