Explain the OCI Cost Calculator
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cost Calculator is a tool provided by Oracle that helps organizations estimate the expected cost of OCI services and resources before deploying them.
It allows us to select the required OCI services, configure their specifications, specify the expected usage, and calculate an estimated cost.
How the OCI Cost Calculator Works
Step 1 - Write Cost calculator OCI in Google and then click on the first option, Cloud Cost Estimator
Step 2 - Open the “Services” tab from the menu bar, then click on “Select category” and, from the dropdown list, select “Compute”.
Step 3 - Several options will appear under Compute (Server). Let's select the first option, “Virtual Machine”, then click on "Load"
Step 4 - As per the requirement, we need to select the appropriate Processor, Shape, OCPU, and Memory for the Virtual Machine.
Step 5 - The highlighted section on the right side represents the estimated cost of the selected Virtual Machine configuration.
Estimated Monthly Cost: This section displays the estimated monthly cost of the configured Virtual Machine. The calculation is based on the selected VM configuration and its expected usage. In this example, the VM is configured for 1 instance running for 744 hours per month, with an estimated monthly compute cost of ₹3,696.44.
