Import and Use of OCI Icons in draw.io

Oracle provides architecture diagram toolkits that can be used with draw.io to create professional Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) architecture diagrams.

Follow the steps below to import the OCI diagram library into draw.io.

Step 1: Search for the OCI Architecture Diagram Toolkit

Open your web browser and search for:

OCI Architecture Diagram Toolkits - Oracle

Look for the official Oracle documentation page in the search results.

Step 2: Open the Oracle Documentation

From the search results, open the first relevant link that points to the official Oracle documentation website:

https://docs.oracle.com

This page provides information about the OCI architecture diagram resources.

Step 3: Download the draw.io Toolkit

On the Oracle documentation page, locate the draw.io option or link.

Click the draw.io link to download the OCI diagram toolkit.

The toolkit will be downloaded as a ZIP file.

Step 4: Extract the ZIP File

After the download is complete:

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file.
  2. Right-click the file.
  3. Select Extract or Extract All.
  4. Open the extracted folder.

Inside the extracted folder, you should find a file named:

OCI Library.xml

This XML file contains the OCI architecture diagram shapes and icons that can be imported into draw.io.

Step 5: Open draw.io

Open draw.io in your web browser.

From the draw.io interface, go to:

File → Import from → Device

Select Device to import a file from your computer.

Step 6: Select OCI Library.xml

Browse to the folder where you extracted the downloaded toolkit.

Locate:

OCI Library.xml

Select the file and click Open.

draw.io will import the OCI diagram library.

Step 7: Access the OCI Library

After the import is completed, the OCI Library will appear in the left-side panel of draw.io.

You can now select and drag OCI components onto the canvas to create your architecture diagrams.

For example, you can use OCI shapes for:

  • Compute
  • Networking
  • Storage
  • Database
  • Security
  • Load Balancer
  • Other OCI services

Final Result

Once the library has been imported successfully, the OCI service icons will be available directly inside draw.io.

You can then create your OCI architecture diagrams by dragging the required OCI components from the library onto the drawing canvas.
