SOP: Standard Operating Procedure for onboarding of Interns
Through our internships, new graduates and job seekers can access remote work environments and work on real-time projects. Internships have a flexible duration and we offer complete paid internships through institutional talent partners and career consultation companies. Here, we look at the Interns' onboarding operating procedure at Abhyaz.

Types of internship models provided

Step 1: How to apply for our internship
- At first interested students and job seekers are contacted either through Institutional TPOs (Talent and Placement Officers) or job websites
Candidates are contacted from websites like LinkedIn, Internshala or through institute TPOs
Step 2: Portfolio development
- Selective candidates are contacted and guided in creating a portfolio of their previous works and projects
- Existing portfolio is assessed
- Changes in file format and organisation are suggested for presentation
Step 3: Contact and confirmation
- Candidates are provided with unique IDs and enrollment keys for Abhyaz moodle access
- They are requested to log in using the enrollment key at a specific time via email
- A special link is provided in which they are to enter the credentials provided in the email
Step 4: Enrolling
- Candidates are supplied with scheduled onboarding session details
Step 5: Onboarding session
- Candidates can now attend an onboarding session and they are required to present their portfolio during this session
- The onboarding session is structured as a small course on the moodle
- Potential interns, after logging in, can click on this course and visit the BigBlueButton session
- A virtual meeting with the internal onboarding teams is held
- Candidates are required to present their portfolios in this session, provide a short introduction and go through a short interview in this session.
Step 6: Offer letter & acceptance
- Only selected candidates are offered an offer-letter to join the internship programs
- Offer letters are sent to selected candidates through mail
Step 7: Induction into the internship
- An induction session is also provided to selected new interns to:
- Explain the current projects that they will be working on
- Internal procedures/policies
- The virtual workspace functions
Step 8: Work on projects assigned
- Interns are required to work on the tasks assigned and submit them as instructed through the moodle work submission interface.
- Work submission processes involve respective workspace moodle submission based on individual fields
Step 9: Regular review and guidance through moodle
- Regular feedback/review sessions are held internally that help in guiding the improvement of work quality & skills of interns
- Against each work submission created by interns, peer-to-peer review processes are applied and inter-departmental reviewing sessions are held weekly
Step 10: Certification
- Finally, after completion of the internship duration, a certificate of completion is provided to interns along with assistance in further portfolio improvement and acknowledgement.
