Business Applications team (part of ISIS Computing)

We are a growing team that develops software solutions for colleagues across the (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory) (RAL) site. As well as developing solutions for the ISIS Facility we also develop systems for the Central Laser Facility also based at RAL.

• Upgrade our proposal systems to match the 'look and feel' of our other user office systems
• Reporting / Statistics system
• Upgrade our Experimental Risk Assessment system to work for our Xpress access route
• Bring online more of our facility access panel process
• Enhancements to other existing systems e.g. experiment visits, safety test

We are doing

• External website upgrade using SharePoint 2013
• Scheduling system (released in January 2015 and although is being used we have some extra features and fixes we want to get in for May 2015)

• Scheduling system (early days - still working on to improve it but essentially works)
• Experimental Risk Assessment system with rules engine for helping identify appropriate sample handling
