Let us share our job search experiences, tips on job searching etc. in this page.
- If you are still a student or recently graduated, please keep working with your college placement office and use their help to get in touch with the hiring companies. Companies come to the colleges/universities based on your college reputation. You will have a better chance to get into a job this way. Once you are on the road, it would become very difficult to find a job on your own.
- Many companies have separate sites/portals for recent graduates. You need to register on these sites, check these sites for this type of jobs.
- Many jobs posted on regular job portals expect some industry experience. If you have relevant knowledge though you DO NOT have the industry experience, you should send your resume with a cover letter saying that you have the skill set to do this job. If you are lucky, you might be considered.
- You need to register your resume with as many job portals/sites as possibles and set up automatic job reminders.
- DO NOT lie on any job application. If you are caught, you may have to pay a much bigger price for lying.
- You should be able to defend whatever you mention on your resume. If you claim some experience but you can't answer questions regarding this job/experience, it would be very bad.
- Networking with your friends and relatives is very important. Keep checking with your network, check with them to see if they know of any job opportunities in their companies or outside and have them submit your resume directly for those openings. An internal employee referral will always help.

- DO NOT lose heart when you get a rejection. Just keep going forward with the feedback you got from your previous job/interview experience.
- Many companies are NOT interested in doing immigration process for their own reasons. There are a few consulting companies that make money on their consultants. These place their consultants at their client companies. It's better if you work with these consulting companies to get your immigration processing though you may need to compromise on salary/location initially.
- Never sign any legal documents with OUT understanding them. Never surrender your passport and/or any of your personal legal documents or certificates to anybody.
- DO NOT take any risky jobs. Your personal safety is very important.
