Helpful Tips
- Be a team player! You are only as good as your weakest link. If someone is struggling help them out.
- Establish an effective way of communicating with your other team member.
- Start off slow and small. Don't get over ambitious with issues and milestones at first. They will turn out to be a lot more work then what you originally thought.
- Don't reinvent the wheel! If something is working perfectly don't try and recreate because you know you can do it better.
- If you are a coding ninja don't create super complex code that only you understand. This will only confuse your team and slow the project down while everyone tries to get up to speed. Remember this is a team project
- Make descriptive issues and milestones that layout exactly what needs to get done.
- Transfer group conversations to issues or wiki pages so you don't loss track of useful information.
- Collaborate with other teams!
- Create Collaboration boards on slack for specific tasks.
- Keep track of other teams progress. This will help you get a better overall view of the project. It will also help you on quizzes with material that your team hasn't worked on in the project.
- Review over team's commits and leave comments on what they did well and what they could improve on. (Roberto really likes when students do this and it's really participation points)
- Create a review day so all of your team members can get together and go over what everyone has been working on and what needs to still get accomplished.
