The instructor uses the Eclipse IDE and so is best able to render assistance to students also using Eclipse. However, students are welcome to use any development environment which suits their needs. Popular alternatives include NetBeans and IntelliJ IDEA.

However, most issues refer to Eclipse and its plugins directly. Therefore, it is suggested that you install all of these plug-ins with Eclipse.

NOTE: Installing command-line Ivy is not the equivalent of installing the Ivy plug-in for Eclipse. Therefore, you must install Ivy again as a plugin for Eclipse (as well as any other plugins listed).
