#2507 Support recording applications that use the GPU via GL. Currently we try to just force CPU rendering but we can do better.
If rr worked in VirtualBox that would mean there's a free solution to running rr in Linux guests on Mac and Windows. That would require implementing PMU virtualization in VirtualBox, not really an rr issue, but very valuable!
Ambitious: I'm interested in what could be done if we relax the "unmodified kernel" constraint. Arnold assumes no data races, which I would rather not do. UMich and VMWare did some hypervisor-based whole-OS record-and-replay work, using page permissions to prevent races, but performance was bad. But what if we tried to replay only userspace with a modified kernel (like Arnold), but unlike Arnold used existing page-permissions hardware to prevent races? AFAIK no-one has actually had a serious attempt at that design point. I have some specific ideas about how to structure this.
