Using Macbook but with Intel chip

First Attempt

  1. Installed Android Studio Bumblebee | 2021.1.1 Patch 3 from here:

  2. Followed setup instructions for Android Studio from here:

    a. Using API 7 from Robot SDK Manager

  3. Followed instructions to create a new project from here:

  4. Ran robot emulator

    a. First try: Gets stuck on 99% and does not continue

    i. Emulator showed “Android” on black screen

    b. Subsequent tries: Quickly goes to 2% and then crashes

Second Attempt

  1. Deleted API 7 from Robot SDK Manager

  2. Redownloaded API 7 from Robot SDK Manager

  3. Ran robot emulator

    a. First try: Gets stuck on 99%, then after an hour went down to 95% and got stuck there

    i. Right away got warnings “An unexpected packet was received before handshake”

    ii. Emulator opened a tablet like looking thing (clicking did not work)

    b. Subsequent tries: Quickly goes to 2% and then crashes

**Third Attempt **

  1. Deleted Android Studio

  2. Copied steps 1-3 from first attempt

    a. Used API 29 this time

  3. Created the activity file (idk if this would actually matter for the emulator appearing though?)

  4. Ran robot emulator

    a. First try: Stuck at 95%, still looks like a tablet on the emulator

    b. Subsequent tries: Quickly goes to 2% or 3% and then crashes

Fourth Attempt

  1. Tried downloading API 5 and API 6

    a. Got download errors for both (see screenshot)

**Fifth Attempt **

  1. Uninstall Pepper plug-in

  2. Redo everything

  3. Ran robot emulator

    a. Every try: Quickly goes to 3% and crashes

  4. Robotified application again and still same results on emulator

Sixth Attempt

  1. Deleted API 7 before downloading API 5

  2. Ran robot emulator

    a. First try: Gets stuck on 99%, then after 45 minutes went down to 95%, then 97% and got stuck there

    b. Subsequent tries: Quickly goes to 2% and then crashes

  3. I hate this
