How to Apply to Internal for Roles - romangg2/Internal-transfer GitHub Wiki
Interested in joining another team at Mapbox? Here are some guidelines to help you branch out. (Please see HR Policy)
- To be eligible, the internal applicant must have 12 months of tenure in their current role before moving internally.
- The internal applicant should have demonstrated strong performance and be in good standing. Employees currently on a Performance Improvement Plan are not eligible.
- If you are not sure of your eligibility, please ask your VP or HR Business Partner if you are eligible.
-
Look at our career page for any roles we are currently hiring for.
-
You have the option of Contacting the hiring manager to set up a meeting in order to discuss the role a bit more. Please ping Talent Ops (Roman Guerrero or Sarah Mangano) if you don’t know the hiring manager.
- When scheduling a meeting, please make sure to mark the event Private in your calendar invite.
- If the role is something you are interested after discussing with the hiring manager, go to the internal job board.
- You must be logged into your Greenhouse account to access the internal job board.
-
You can access the internal job board by clicking Hi (Name) in the upper right-hand corner and selecting Internal Job Board from the dropdown menu.
-
From the internal job board, you can select the job you are interested in.
-
When applying, you have the option of applying with an alias. Why? Employees do not have to inform their own managers that they are applying to a job. Please make up a realistic name. Example: Conor Lewis.
-
You will need to make sure to apply with your Mapbox email.
-
Complete the application and click Submit Application.
-
Once you submit your application, please ping Talent Ops (Roman Guerrero or Sarah Managano) and provide them with your alias, if any, and the role.
-
Talent Ops will make sure your account is private and write your real name in the application if using an alias. People won’t be able to see your real name when using an alias, except for the site admins, the recruiter, and the hiring manager for that role. - You will not be able to access your own profile either.
-
Talent Ops will notify the Recruiter about the internal application, then the recruiter will confirm with HRBP to make sure they are eligible.
- Once the recruiters confirm eligibility, Talent Ops will schedule the necessary interviews and work with the hiring team and candidate to discuss the interview process. (Process will depend on internal changes.)
-
Talent Ops will schedule your interviews confidentially. Keep in mind that interviewers will be able to see your real name when scheduled, but are told to keep everything confidential.
-
You will be treated as an external candidate when interviewing. Please prepare for hard level questions that we ask all candidates. We are happy to set up a Prep-Call with one of our recruiters to help you through this step.
-
After all interviews are concluded, the hiring team will debrief. HRBP will work with the individual to figure out a transition plan if hired. (HR policy, target 2 weeks transition, anything over 2 weeks must get approval.)*
