The internet is made up of billions of websites. Many of these websites also have databases writing new data constantly. Each new database that is added is one more resource to the internet that constantly consumes electricity to run. The more databases we add to the internet the more energy will be needed to power the internet which translates directly to carbon output. Furthermore, each independent databases emissions remains a black box.

What we have achieved is a single database that can be shared across any number of websites.
