Navigation: Production > Variant production > Product configurator: Configurator No contents entries on this page Contents Usually, the product configurator is called when creating quotes or orders in SAP Business One using the right click menu. (create new configuration, or select configuration No). After completing the configuration the variant ID is saved in document line in field "variant".
Graphical User Interface
The product configurator basically consists of two areas - the navigation area on the left side, and the detail area on the right. On the left, elements of the configuration are displayed in green (in sofa example: design, size, legs, accessories) these element can be expanded.
Above there is a blue area: Field Meaning Designation/Header Configuration name, defined in respective coding. Displayed in brackets is the assigned variant number. "0" means new creation.
Below, two blue buttons: Field Meaning Result/Price: In a table all elements are displayed, including description, amount, and total price (if price processing was selected in the headerline of the coding). Definitions: Display of data of the configuration (see fields in table below). Additionally, it is checked, whether the configuration had been saved before. In configuration wizard you can set up, whether in that case the configuration is loaded automatically or if only a note is displayed.

Buttons below Field Meaning OK Save changes to offer / customer order Copy variant Copy the variant. The ID is set to 0, after adjusting parameters, the new variant can be saved with a new ID. Load variant Load an existing variant Save The deposited variant ID is transferred to variant field in document line, an offer or customer order is created with that variant. Create item Create a new item from configuration. The new item gets the first 12 letters of the original item + 4digit counter + counter 2 = „000“. If the assembly contains an order related sub-assembly, these are also created automatically. As new item number the item number of the main item is used. The second counter is raised. Test For a generated item the pre-calculation is opened. If no item was generated, you can test the configuration here, by starting the graphical interface for the given configuration. Only storage related assemblies are affected.
Change variants
A change of a saved variant is possible under the following circumstances: Click the button "save", the current row in quotation or customer order is checked:

no pre-calculation created ? -
no work order created (only in customer order)?
all conditions need to be met in order to save a changed variant.
