For beas there is no difference between work stations, employees, machines or buildings. It is just a resource. These are assigned to the operation sequences.

Resources are productive resources which the beas system plans as the smallest capacity unit. This includes: Here, you store the machine hour rates for calculation as well as the planned capacity, transition and vacation time for capacity planning. Resources are subdivided into resource groups. A resource group can be a number of individual machines that can be used alternatively or a collection of machines belonging to a production unit. A resource does not necessarily have to be assigned to a resource group.

hmtoggle_plus1 Parallel resources Parallel resources are separately planned resources (machines, people, etc.) which have the same start and end time of the main resource (operation). Parallel resources may be no foreign labor costs and may have only one set of costs (eg no separate staff costs and no extended costs) Parallel resources always have the same start and end times, but can be used at less or more than 100% (time reservation %). Parallel resources are calculated separately and must be reported separately.

There are also alternative parallel resources definable. At scheduling you can selected manually or by automatic optimization the appropriate parallel resource. If in the parallel resource is the capacity planning enabled, then the operation at forward reservation can be scheduled only at the time, when both the main resource and the parallel resource are available.

beas supports the following types of parallel resurces:

• tools with same start and end date • parallel resources with same start and end date and with any degree of utilization • alternative parallel resources • overlapping operations
