A translation table should only be created in consultation with beas. We provide a web portal for easy maintenance of translations. Please contact beas support.

The translation tables for new languages are provided as German-English text files and can be imported and edited (see import of translation table)

The translation system consists of three parts

• Translation table for "before logon"
• Word translation for "after logon"
• Message translation

The "Translation file for 'Before logon'" can only be edited directly in a text file and is located in sbo_shr\beas\program\language_.sr2, e.g. language_fr.sr2 for French Structure: German=Foreign language If changes are made here, they must be sent to beas ([email protected]).

The word translation as well as the message translation are located in sbo_shr\beas\program\language_.src, e.g., language_fr.src for French. These can be imported and edited directly in beas. After editing, translations can be exported again and sent to BEAS ([email protected]).

Using "Reload", the language table, the date/time settings for view and input are initialized again.

help-zahnrad Word translation The first entries begin with "%%". Please do not edit these entries here. The tab "Settings" is used for this purpose. The word then follows in German and next to it, in the corresponding language (English, French, etc.) If the word does not contain the character "&" then this means that the next letter is underlined and can be selected directly using ALT+(next letter). If possible, the same letter should receive "&" in the target language.

Unfortunately, multiple meanings occur. The translation must therefore be verified. For this purpose, simply select the target language via LANGUAGES / SET.

help-zahnrad Messages Each message has a message number and a placeholder. The translation itself is done again from German into the target language.

The message numbers were determined by beas with the functions "Scan source text" and "Scan PSR". Please do not use these functions without consulting beas. Consulting beas may be necessary when new Add-Ons or customizations are created.

An excerpt from the program source text incl. source text location is displayed. The German version may possibly still contain program portions after the message; these portions are not supposed to be translated.

Everything following " must not be translated. In this example, the translation into English is:

Messages also have placeholders which must be specified in German and in the target language.
