This page outlines how to take the cover off the FTXM50W2VMA split system unit to find the S21 port for the faikin.

Step 0: Isolate the power to the unit

Find wherever your unit was connected electrically and turn it off.

Step 1: Remove the outer cover

Be careful with this step, since the metal plates that the air is pushed through are extremely thin and easy to bend even if touched lightly.

The bottom 3 screws are hidden underneath the outlet like this:

Step 2: Remove the cover here

Nice and easy:

Step 3: Remove the outer cover completely

There are 3 tabs at the back on the top of the unit - these should be the only things holding the outer cover on now. Gently pop those off, and with all the screws removed pull from the back of the top, down until it starts to come off.

Once it starts to move, then pull it off directly away from the wall - taking care not to touch the fragile metal grill!

Step 4: Remove controller cover

There's a single screw here and then it comes off:

Step 5: Locale the S21 port and connect the faikin

This unit uses the S21 Type B cable (smaller PAP S21 socket):
