Game Compatibility List

By Jordan (Twitter/Discord: @jackal27)

Preface:
Thank you SO much to the developers of PSX4All, RetroFW, the LDK Game, and everyone in the Retro Handhelds Discord and Dingoonity forums that provided helpful info.

All games were tested in PSX4ALL v2.4 for RetroFW v1.2 on the LDK Game v1 overclocked to 708mhz. Results will vary based on how high you can overclock. Results should still be compatible with the RS97 given that it runs on the same hardware as the LDK Game. Some of these results may even help you decide which games to test for your other devices such as the Bittboy, but obviously that's up to you.

psx4all

Games were tested at Fontes' Settings shown above (thanks Fontes!) since they are the most popular, but most were kept to the default Cycle multiplier setting of 2.00. Increasing the Cycle multiplier can help OR hurt a game's performance and sometimes causes graphical glitches. I have tried to note where increasing a game's cycle to 3.00 helped performance, but it is up to you to test for yourself and see what works best. Fontes likes to keep his at 2.50 because he is too lazy to adjust it lol. Cycle multiplier also likes to display an inaccurate framerate. Don't believe his lies. I also don’t recommend turning on RCntFix or VSyncWA, except for the games they’re meant for as they can do things like break voice acting in some games. Lastly, try turning off frameskip if a game feels too choppy. Sometimes it’s worth a slight dip in speed for an overall smoother experience. Remember that some settings need the emulator to be restarted before they will take effect.

Disclaimer Please Read:

All of these results are subjective. What is acceptable performance to one person may not be to someone else. Please do not throw a fit because a game you think plays well is listed lower than you'd like or vis versa. I am a picky person and tried to be a discerning as possible. There are plenty of games in the "Fair" or even "Poor" category you may still enjoy playing and that's ok for you. Also, the majority of these were tested for only an hour or two and may have issues later in the game. If you discover issues you think I should be aware of, feel free to tag me on Discord or Twitter.

Obviously not every game is covered here, but this was a lot of work! If you have a game you have tested and would like added, I will be creating a community list below mine. Tag me on Twitter/Discord and I will add your results.

With all that said, enjoy the list and PS1's incredible library of weird and wonderful games!

Game List:

Any arcade ports that run in Final Burn Alpha have been excluded, but I assume they perform perfectly as most 2D games do.

Perfect

As close as it gets. Try playing without frameskip!
