What is Ocean Watch?

Ocean Watch is a set of ocean data resources, curated using a custom dashboard on Resource Watch.

Ocean Watch is currently moving from a minimum viable product to a fully utilizable tool. Ocean Watch will cover a variety of high-impact topics at the data-policy interface. The 1st topic page developed was the "Land-sea interface." We expect to develop and "Oceans and Climate" topic page soon.

What can I use this wiki for?

In this wiki resources refer to all the elements hosted on Ocean Watch. These include indicators, chart and map widgets, mini-explores, and text as well as the datasets and layers that underlie these elements.

This wiki and the associated repository are reference materials for the Ocean Watch Data Team and interested Ocean Watch users.

The repository

The ocean-watch-data repository contains code related documentation for dataset processing, analysis, and visualization of only those resources which require data processing by the Ocean Watch Data Team: datasets, widgets, and indicators.

Note: Because Ocean Watch is a custom page on Resource Watch, it also utilizes some existing resources (mostly datasets) managed by the Resource Watch Data Team. Information about these resources can be found in the Resource Watch repository.
