Filezilla is used to transfer files from your machine to a remote location

Steps to transfer files from your local machine to the remote machine

Add a new site in site manager

  1. Click on Site manager in File menu
    Site manager in file menu

  2. Click on New site in the site manager dialog box
    New site

  3. Enter a name for the new site in the site manager dialog box. For example Hull city of culture AWS EFS

  4. Enter the following settings for the new site in the site manager dialog box
    General tab

    Host: 34.247.206.13
    Protocol: SFTP SSH file transfer protocol
    Port: 22 (default) <br>
    Logon Type: Key file
    User: centos
    Key file: HullCityCultureStorage_id_rsa  
    

    To select the key file, browse to the file. You may have to select all files in the browse dialog box to see this file



    Advanced tab

    Default remote directory: /mnt/efs
    


    Note: We are connecting to an EC2 instance called hullsync centos

  5. Click on OK in the site manager dialog box

Connect to the site

  1. Click on Site manager in File menu

  2. If you have multiple sites, select the Hull city of culture AWS EFS site from the sites

  3. Click on connect in the site manager dialog box

  4. You may have to tick 'Accept the host' and click on OK in the warning dialog box

  5. Once successful, you should see the successful message on top and the remote directories on the left window

Note: To quick connect, from the connect icon, select the site and click on it

To add files and directories

  • You can create new directories by right clicking on the left area
  • You can select the file or folder you wouldlike to transfer in the right and drag it to the left

Disconnect

Once done you can disconnect by clicking on the disconnect icon on the top
