Distance Reiki Healing is a practice where a Reiki practitioner sends healing energy to someone who is not physically present, using intention and the power of the universal life force energy. Reiki transcends time and space, so it can be sent to anyone, anywhere, regardless of distance. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to perform distance Reiki healing:

  1. Preparation: Create a Calm and Focused Space

Find a Quiet Space: Just like with in-person Reiki, the environment should be peaceful and free of distractions. This helps you to focus your energy on the healing process.

Ground Yourself: Take a few moments to breathe deeply and ground yourself. This helps you center your energy and clear your mind. Set an Intention: Clarify the purpose of the healing session. Is it to ease pain, provide emotional balance, or promote overall well-being? Setting an intention helps focus your energy and channel it effectively.

  1. Connect with the Person

You don’t need to be physically present with the person you're healing, but it helps to have a clear intention of who you're sending energy to. Here’s how you can connect with the recipient:

Use Their Name: Start by visualizing the person or focusing on their name. The more connected you feel to the individual, the stronger your energy can flow to them.

Picture the Recipient: If possible, you can have a photo of the person you're sending energy to. Hold it in your hands, or place it in front of you. This helps you to visualize them and focus your energy.

  1. Activate Your Reiki Energy

Call in Reiki: If you're attuned to Reiki, you can call in the Reiki energy by mentally asking the universal energy to flow through you. You can also use symbols (such as the distant healing symbol for Reiki II) to strengthen your intention and connection. Use the Distance Symbol: In Reiki, the distance symbol (Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen) is often used to send healing energy across time and space. You can visualize the symbol in front of you or trace it in the air with your hands. Activate the Energy: Once you’ve connected with the recipient, you can visualize the energy flowing from your hands, heart, or crown chakra. Imagine the energy surrounding the person with healing light, warmth, or whatever imagery resonates with you.

  1. Sending the Energy

Focus on the Recipient: Close your eyes and envision the person’s body, mind, or energy field. See the energy flowing from you to them, healing any areas of imbalance or discomfort. You can focus on specific issues the person might be facing (physical, emotional, or spiritual) or simply send general healing energy.

Use Hand Positions (Optional): If you are familiar with hand positions from in-person Reiki, you can visualize the positions over the person's body or intend for them to be placed over areas of concern. For example, you might visualize your hands above their head, heart, or any area that needs healing. Trust the Energy Flow: Allow the energy to flow freely. It’s important to trust that the Reiki energy will go where it is needed most. You don't have to control it; just let it do its work.

  1. Closing the Session

Express Gratitude: After you feel that you have sent the energy, express gratitude to the universe, Reiki, and the person you have sent healing to. Thank them for allowing you to assist in their healing process. Ground Yourself Again: It’s important to ground your own energy after the session, especially when doing distance work. Take a few deep breaths and visualize yourself rooted to the earth. You can also do a grounding exercise like walking barefoot on the earth or visualizing roots growing from your feet.

Seal the Energy: If you used symbols, you can also "seal" the energy by visualizing the symbols being locked into place, ensuring the healing energy continues to flow after the session ends.
